Varieties

Kao-hawm

  • Shape : globular
  • Color : yellowish green; flesh-white
  • Taste : sweet and scented

Kao-nahm-peung

  • Shape : pear-shaped
  • Color : yellowish green; flesh-yellowish white
  • Taste : sweet

Kao-paen

  • Shape : flattened globe
  • Color : yellowish green; flesh-white
  • Taste : sweet and slightly sour

Kao-puang

  • Shape : pear-shaped, with a pronounced basal topknot
  • Color : yellowish green; flesh-yellowish white
  • Taste : sweet and slightly sour

Kao-tawng-dee

  • Shape : globular
  • Color : dark green and smooth; flesh-pink
  • Taste : sweet and juicy

Preparation and eating

  • 1. Use a knife to carve the outer green skin off.
  • 2. Use a knife to peel off the white fleshy part of the skin.
  • 3. Use a knife to separate the fruit into two pieces.
  • 4. Separate into segments.
  • 5. Remove the skin on segments, and the seeds.

Uses : Eating fresh

Storage : Keep the fresh fruit at room temperature ( 25-30 celcius degree ), it can be kept for about one month.
